Gaijin Gunpla

After returning from a week’s vacation in August and getting life back to some sense of normalcy I started picking up the Gunpla again but the Exia kind of got lost. Well, I realized that I needed to get this thing finished soon otherwise I would forget it altogether. Probably the thing that caused me to keep putting it off was that I am now at the part of the build where I am doing modifications. I am always reluctant to start on that part of a build, but once I’m done I usually complete it in a relatively short time. So what did I do to the Exia Avalanche Dash?

I took the pieces that go on either side of the knee and are designed to hold the ‘skis’ and hacked off a fairly sizable piece of plastic on each one.

Then I took the poly-caps that were no longer needed on that part of the kit and assaulted them with my side-cutters.

Like so.

Once that was complete I grabbed the model cement and set them as best I could.

Here are the other pieces after clean up and painting. I’ll start assembly soon.

If you don’t recall, my aim is to come up with something that looks like this.
