Gaijin Gunpla

My viewing of the movie Toilet ended with me finishing the assembly of the Zaku Cannon suit itself but not the weapons. Well, the weapons on the Zaku Cannon are pretty important, don’t you think. I assembled them the day after the suit and can now show a completed Zaku Cannon (test build).

I’m sure I don’t need to go into a great deal of detail here because most of us are pretty familiar with an MG kit’s weapon construction.

One thing I did want to bring to everyone’s attention is the level of detail in even the smallest pieces.

Here you can see the mold of the projectiles. They’re small and they won’t even be seen once construction is completed but Bandai still went to the trouble of molding them this way. Nice.

Now for that famous Zaku Machine Gun.

This takes me back. Years ago when I first started this hobby I kit-bashed a rifle using some parts of a Zaku Machine Gun, a Zaku Bazooka and some head parts from another kit.

Here’s more of the projectile detail I mentioned before.

Speaking of Zaku Bazookas.

And now for the big guns. I’m not kidding. That’s how Bandai named these things in the manual. So I have a Zaku Cannon, Zaku Machine Gun, Zaku Bazooka, and.. big guns.

More detail!

The ‘Big Guns’ themselves are simple enough.

But they need something with which to mount them onto the Zaku Cannon. That’s what this is for.

And last of all is the backpack.

And here he is.

And I forgot to mention he has a Heat Hawk as well.

So completes the test build. Now I get to possibly mess it up as I strive to accomplish some major modifications. Wish me luck.

Awesome, I’ve been waiting to see you tackle this. Your source of inspiration looked amazing, excited to see what you’ll make of it. It took a while though, didn’t it? (when was that Poll again?)
