Gaijin Gunpla

Thanks to everyone who donated during the month of February. The winner has been chosen and I’ll be contacting him or her shortly to find out where to send the MG Zaku II 2.0 Robert Gilliam’s Custom. It’s a great kit so I hope the winner enjoys it.

Starting this month the Donate and Win campaign will be run a little differently as you can probably tell by the picture below.

Yes, there are two kits being given away in this month’s contest!

MG Tallgeese III and the MG Gundam Astray Noir.

Likely future contests will be like this as well. Why is that? Well, the first reason is that I seem to accumulate these things at a rate faster than I can build them and my room in the apartment is reaching max capacity according to a very significant other. The second reason is, well, something that can’t be revealed until a certain point in the future.

When I decided to offer up to kits I wondered how to go about it. I would like to give one kit each to two different winners but if someone is interested in both I can’t really ask them to donate twice. I considered allowing the first winner to choose the kit they want but that could lead to the second winner not getting the kit he donated towards. Here is what I came up with. There will be a main prize and a secondary prize. In this case the main prize is the Tallgeese III making the Astray Noir the secondary prize. Everyone who donates is eligible for the main prize but in order to be in the drawing for the second prize donations need to be 7 dollars or more. I think that’s a reasonable number. People who donate more than that amount get two shots at winning.

Hopefully this will help alleviate my backlog while at the same time doubling the number of people who are lucky enough to be randomly chosen.

So allow me to show you the Main prize for this month, the MG Tallgeese III

It’s a pretty crazy kit. It is based off the Tallgeese I but has so much new stuff it comes in a large size box rather than the small size box the I came in

Check out the promotional images for this kit.

He looks twice the size of the normal Tallgeese. Those weapons really add to its presence.

Here’s the money shot.

The secondary prize is also a big-box MG, the MG Gundam Astray Noir.

If you didn’t realise it it’s a cross between the MG Strike Noir Gundam and the Astray kits. I really liked the unique look it has (which explains why I picked it up).

That Noir backpack makes the Astray look even more angled and menacing.

Just like last time, to join in this, and to help me out while doing so, all you need to do is click the ‘Support Gaijin Gunpla’ button I put into the right sidebar right below the comments field.

Once again, a reminder of how this works, the main prize is the Tallgeese III but anyone who donates more than $7 is entered into the drawing for the secondary prize, the Astray Noir.

Thanks, everyone, for your help. It is much appreciated. Good luck with your two chances!

    Hello Syd,

I’ve done my duty for this month. 😉
I have both these kits, so please don’t count me in for the drawing; I prefer leaving an open slot for other people. Keep up the good work!

So I have mine set up for recurring donation. If I just donate the extra amount to meet the $7 limit would that work? Or would that just make extra work for you? I know you’re a busy person and that is the last thing I would want to do. If it’s more convenient I can always just up the recurring amount to $7.

Just donating the difference would be fine. I’m able to note that.

Alright sounds good! Almost forgot but just sent the top up amount like 2 mins ago. Enjoy the rest of your day. (Or would that be night since we are on opposite sides of the planet almost? Guess it depends on when you read this really.)

Also looking forward to the new real grade! Took me way longer than I like to admit to realize it has a RG Blitz Gundam for it’s right arm. Future RG Blitz Gundam confirmed??

  9. BNuts says:

Would it be possible to donate and draw just for the Noir and not for the Tallgeese?

So I told myself “No more Gundams until you build the 7(plus the 2 more that haven’t arrived yet) still sitting in their boxes” but damn, Tallgeese in all of his forms is my favorite from all the series sooo…here’s my $15.

Also keep up the awesome work. I love the reviews and always look forward to what’s next.

    • S2 says:

Yes, the winner was chosen and contacted. I currently don’t have any other contests going on at this time because all my kits are on a boat somewhere and I have nothing to give away. 😉
