Where was I?

That’s right. I completed the head and neck of the AT-AT and was working on the first two legs. I had gotten up to the feet. Here is what goes into an AT-AT foot.

Plug in those four toes and close it up with some larger parts.

Love the details here.

Taking the section of leg I’d assembled previously I add the lower section.

Onto that piece I’ll place the foot.

An identical piece then goes on locking the foot on.

Now for a very small part on the knee.

That is definitely a leg.

Some parts are added to the thin edges.

They slot in nicely.

Those are definitely legs.

But wait! You’re not done. (I mean, I’m not done.)

You need to add two small parts to the side of the lower leg. First is this piece.

You then slide a piston-looking piece into that and plug the other end into a whole.

Two legs.

Double that!

Those are not yet fully complete but they are set aside while you work on the undercarriage. That starts with these two parts.

Plug a part into both sides and one on the end.

You can see how they slot in.

Now make this.

More on that later.

Now take a very large piece and add some sides.

Here’s a shot showing how things line up.

Continue adding parts.

Next install four of these.

Now you’ll add the sub assemblies you completed minutes earlier.

The undercarriage is almost complete. Some parts still need to go on both ends. First up, these two parts.

Those will fit on one end though it looks a bit off.

The opposite end has this small part.

That completes the undercarriage so I’m going to stop there and save those big body parts for next time.

    Hey Syd,

It’s so great seeing you active here again. This is a really fun kit. And for many fans a kind of Grail kit. I’d love to put the old MPC(?) kit next to his and compare. But my memory tells me that they are night and day different, like comparing Episode 1 against Episode 5. so glad Bandai has picked up the rights to the Star Wars Universe. I feel like I’m 8 all over again! Thanks for building these kits for us, Syd!

    Hello Syd,

Did you ever get to finish the Zebracorn? Is it possibly on an other website?

Alas, that is another kit where I was not able to follow up on my intentions. I just had too much going on at the time. I actually gave that kit away rather than let it collect dust.
